Transcending the direct mail paradigm to become an integrated information solutions provider fusing the digital and real worlds

Our predecessor, Direct Mail Service, was founded in 1954. Later, in 1961 we were incorporated as Direct Mail Service Co., Ltd. During Japan’s postwar years of rapid economic growth, numerous products and trends took the nation by storm through mass communications. Under such conditions, we deliberately took on the challenge of direct communications, harnessing direct mail to communicate information difficult to convey via mass media—information that we were sure would increase.

Later, broadening our business domains to encompass sales promotions, events, and logistics, we helped clients and consumers build better relationships through direct interactions. We are confident of our comprehensive service capabilities and solutions proposal capabilities to integrate these distinctive business domains.

At the same time, services in these business domains are merely a means of marketing for our clients. We believe their essential goals must be to sell more and to connect more with their customers. Thus, through our initiatives, we seek to make marketing even more effective by focusing not just on means, but objectives such as proposing new solutions and optimizing overall business processes.

In recent years, marketing has shifted from a focus on retaining customers to a value-driven approach that seeks to resonate with consumers. Our clients are also actively pursuing new initiatives leveraging various channels, data, and content. We believe our direct mail services will remain a powerful medium; at the same time, we understand that we need to meet a broader range of needs by combining new technologies: the Web, smartphones, and social media.

To do so, we aim to become a company that provides comprehensive support for building positive relationships between clients and consumers by proposing cross-media strategies that add the features of the Web to the real-world expertise we have cultivated to date.
